| Welcome to our Little Haven! Dreams do come true and so many of mine are due to Ron, my hubby. When we married, I had a feisty little companion Pom, Missy, who went to the Rainbow Bridge in 2000 at the age of 17 ½. Ron learned that my dream was to show Poms so he went in search of a puppy for me. On my birthday in 1998, Ron invited me out for a ride in the country. Much to my surprise, we ended up pulling into David and Carlene Gilstrap’s driveway …and here I met the Mountain Crest family of Poms and took home “Hope”, Mountain Crest’s High Hopes. Since meeting David and Carlene, we have been very proud to have them as mentors and special friends and are proud to be owned and loved by several of their Poms. Since that early beginning we have been blessed with not only Poms but Kees and have several champions. We have many people to thank for helping us along the way but particularly David & Carlene Gilstrap, our mentors in Poms, Xanthea Kennedy of Krown Kees for showing novices the ropes, and Beth Blankenship of Trumpet's Keeshonden, who has been a great mentor in dogs as well. We have been asked where the Little Haven Kennel name came from and we love to tell the story. Ron had an adopted aunt that had never married. When she was in her 70’s she met and married, only to lose him after 2 years of marriage. She is a lovely lady and she to this day says those 2 years were the happiest of her life. Ron remembers going into this home filled with love and over the door was a plaque with the words, “Little Haven”. So from one home filled with love to ours which is filled this same way, we welcome you to our home page. |
